Module, Anti-Lock Brake System (Abs): Installation

  1. Clean any debris off the mating surfaces of the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) and Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) module.
    CAUTION:

    When installing new O-rings or solenoid valve stem seals, do not use any type of lubricant.

  2. NEW  solenoid valve stems seals (1) and (2) must be installed. Do not reuse solenoid valve stem seals.

  3. Replace the pump/motor connector O-ring (1) if it is not new. Be sure the O-ring is properly seated in the mounting groove (2).

  4. Align components and install the ABS module (1) to the HCU (2).

  5. Install the fasteners (1) attaching the ABS module (2) to the HCU and tighten them to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  6. Install the Integrated Control Unit (ICU) into the vehicle. Refer to INTEGRATED CONTROL UNIT (ICU), INSTALLATION .
NOTE:

If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to determine if alignment of the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU is needed. If PROXI alignment is needed, follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under the Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
