Key Removal Inhibit

The key removal inhibit has a motor driven gear internal to the IGNM to facilitate this feature. This prevents the key from going past accessory to OFF  if the gear shifter is not in (P)  Park.

The RF-Hub detects an internal problem in the IGNM. The RF-Hub performs an internal self test on the IGNM internal Key Lock Solenoid circuit. The purpose of the internal Key Lock Solenoid is to prohibit the FOBIK from being removed from the IGNM if the shifter is in any other position other than Park. The internal circuity can not be repaired. Repairing of the key lock solenoid does not involve any external circuitry and centers on verifying the software validity.
