Module, Memory, Seat (MSM): Installation

NOTE:

If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to determine if alignment of the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU is needed. If PROXI alignment is needed, follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under the Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.

NOTE:

Anytime a new Memory Seat Module (MSM) is replaced the Power Seat System Verification test must be performed.

  1. Position the MSM to the bracket (1) on the driver seat by aligning the front retaining tabs (2) to the front of the bracket and the MSM guides (5) with the removal slots on the bracket. Push the MSM forward, engaging the retaining tabs and guides properly with the bracket (1).
    CAUTION:

Properly align the rear Memory Seat Module (MSM) retaining tabs to the bracket, prior to engagement. Failure to follow these instructions may result damage to the MSM rear retaining tabs.

  2. Carefully pull downward down on the MSM to engage the rear MSM guides (5) with the bracket retaining tabs (4). Make sure the retaining guides are fully secured to the bracket and the retaining tabs prevent the MSM from disengaging the bracket.
  3. Connect the wire harness connectors (3) to the MSM.
  4. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
  5. Perform the power seat system verification test. Refer to POWER SEAT SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST .
