Module, Memory, Seat (MSM): Removal
NOTE:
Anytime a new Memory Seat Module (MSM) is replaced, the MSM must be cleared of all learned parameters using a scan tool and the Power Seat System Verification test must be performed.
NOTE:
Depending on how equipped, there may be more MSM wire harness connectors present than shown in the illustration below.
- Position the driver seat in the full forward and full up position.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable. Wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge before continuing service.
- Disconnect the wire harness connectors (3) from the MSM.
- Using a suitable tool, disengage the rear MSM bracket retaining tabs (4) from each side of the bracket while carefully pushing the rear of the MSM upward to align the MSM guides (5) with the removal slots in the bracket.
- Pull the MSM rearward to disengage the front MSM locating tabs (2) from the bracket (1).
- Remove the MSM from underneath the driver seat.
