Module, Security Gateway (SGW): Installation
NOTE:
If a NEW Security Gateway (SGW) module is being installed, use the diagnostic scan tool to flash the module. Failure to flash the module will leave the SGW module in a locked mode preventing SGW module operation.
NOTE:
If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to determine if alignment of the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU is needed. If PROXI alignment is needed, follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under the Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
- Position the SGW module (1).
- Connect the SGW module wire harness connectors (3).
- Install the SGW module retaining bolts (2) and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- If equipped with an Emergency Assistance Module (EAM), install the EAM. Refer to MODULE, EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE (EAM), INSTALLATION .
- Install the radio. Refer to RADIO, INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
- If a NEW SGW module is installed, use the diagnostic scan tool to flash the SGW module.
