Sensor, Pinch: Installation

  1. Guide the pinch sensor pigtail wiring harness connector (4) through the clearance hole and position the sensor to the liftgate (2).
  2. Install the pigtail wiring harness grommet on the lower end of the pinch sensor into the clearance hole in the liftgate shut face.
  3. Install the plastic retainers of the pinch sensor (1) to the holes in the liftgate shut face.
  4. Reaching through the access hole in the liftgate inner panel and connect the pinch sensor pigtail wiring harness connector to the liftgate wiring harness connector (3).
  5. Install the lower trim onto the liftgate inner panel. Refer to PANEL, TRIM, INSTALLATION .
  6. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector to the negative battery cable.
