Diagnostic Test

- READ AND RECORD DTCS AND ENVIRONMENTAL DATA - ERASE DTCS AND CHECK FOR DTC TO RETURN
- With the scan tool, read DTCs in all Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and record on the repair order.
- With the scan tool, run a vehicle Scan Report, or record the Environmental Data related to the DTCs.
- With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off for a minimum of 10 seconds.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Using the recorded Environmental Data, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK FOR REAR CAMERA DTCS IN THE CVPM
- Refer to the saved DTC information recorded on the repair order.
Were any Rear Camera circuit voltage or performance DTCs present in the CVPM?
Yes
- Perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX .
No
- Go To 3
- Refer to the saved DTC information recorded on the repair order.
- INSPECT THE REAR CAMERA LVDS COAX CABLE CONNECTIONS
- Turn the ignition off.
- Inspect the CVPM C4 harness connector for a secure and undamaged connection.
- Inspect the Coax Cable in-line harness connectors for a secure and undamaged connection.
- Inspect the Rear Camera harness connector for a secure and undamaged connection.
Are all connections secure and undamaged?
Yes
- Go To 4
No
- Repair the cable connection as needed and check video operation.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CONNECT TEST TOOL CABLE KIT TO THE REAR CAMERA - ERASE DTCS AND CHECK FOR DTC TO RETURN
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the CVPM harness connector.
- Disconnect the Rear Camera harness connector.
- Connect the RG-174 Coax Cable 9977-6-8 Adapter (special tool #9977-6-8, Adapter, RG-174 Coax Cable) between the Rear Camera and the CVPM C4 connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Turn the Radio on and wait 25 seconds.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 5
No
- Replace the Rear Camera LVDS Coax Cable in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CONNECT TEST TOOL CABLE KIT TO A KNOWN GOOD CAMERA - ERASE DTCS AND CHECK FOR DTC TO RETURN
- Disconnect the RG-174 Coax Cable 9977-6-8 Adapter at the Rear Camera.
- Disconnect a known good working Camera from the vehicle.
- Connect the RG-174 Coax Cable 9977-6-8 Adapter (special tool #9977-6-8, Adapter, RG-174 Coax Cable) to the known good working Camera.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Turn the Radio on and wait 25 seconds.
- With the scan tool, read CVPM DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 6
No
- Replace the Rear Camera in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to CAMERA, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK RELATED HARNESS CONNECTIONS - ERASE DTCS AND CHECK FOR DTC TO RETURN
- Disconnect all CVPM harness connectors.
- Disconnect all related in-line harness connections (if equipped).
- Disconnect the related component harness connectors.
- Inspect harness connectors, component connectors, and all male and female terminals for the following conditions:
- Proper connector installation.
- Damaged connector locks.
- Corrosion.
- Other signs of water intrusion.
- Weather seal damage (if equipped).
- Bent terminals.
- Overheating due to a poor connection (terminal may be discolored due to excessive current draw).
- Terminals that have been pushed back into the connector cavity.
- Perform a terminal drag test on each connector terminal to verify proper terminal tension.
Repair any conditions that are found.
- Reconnect all CVPM harness connectors. Be certain that all harness connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
- Reconnect all in-line harness connectors (if equipped). Be certain that all connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
- Reconnect all related component harness connectors. Be certain that all connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Using the recorded Environmental Data, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read CVPM DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Replace the Central Vision Processing Module (CVPM) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, CENTRAL VISION PROCESSING (CVPM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Repairing the wiring or connectors corrected the condition.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
