Diagnostic Test

  1. READ AND RECORD DTCS AND ENVIRONMENTAL DATA - ERASE DTCS AND CHECK FOR DTC TO RETURN 
    NOTE:

    All Key Fobs used with this vehicle should be present during this test.

    NOTE:

    To Press the ignition ON the Passive Entry Keyless Go (PEKG)/Keyless Ignition Node (KIN) system, use the rounded end of the Key Fob to press the Stop/Start button.

    1. With the scan tool, read DTCs in all Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and record on the repair order.
    2. With the scan tool, run a vehicle Scan Report, or record the Environmental Data related to the DTCs.
    3. With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.
    4. Press the ignition off for a minimum of 10.0 seconds.
    5. Press the ignition on.
    6. Using the recorded Environmental Data and the When Monitored Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
    7. Press the lock/unlock button of the alleged inoperative Key Fob several times.
    8. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

    Did the DTC return?

    Yes 

    • Go To  2

    No 

    • Perform the appropriate INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. CHECK THE KEY FOB 
    1. With the scan tool, erase the DTCs.
    2. Press the ignition off.
    3. Put the inoperative Key Fob in the vehicle.
    4. With the good Key Fob, start and drive the vehicle above five miles per hour for one mile.
    5. Press the ignition off.
    6. Operate the inoperative Key Fob in all positions several times.
    7. With the scan tool, read RFHM DTCs.

      Is the DTC active?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Perform the RADIO FREQUENCY HUB (RFHM) VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
      • Test complete.
