Power Window System: Notes
DESCRIPTION
The following are some of the components that comprise the power window system:
| 1. | Refer to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) . |
| 2. | Refer to DRIVER DOOR MODULE AND PASSENGER DOOR MODULE (DDM/PDM) . |
| 3. | Refer to DOOR SWITCH MODULE . |
| 4. | Refer to POWER WINDOW MOTORS
- There are two types of window motors used:

OPERATION
The power windows are controlled by a door switch module on the trim panel of each door. Switches in the driver door switch module allows the driver to control all windows. The door switch module for all doors are equipped with detents that allow for express up and express down window operation. The DDM in drivers front door opens or closes the windows when a Local Interface Network (LIN) actuation input signal from the door switch module is received. The PDM uses a MUX circuit. The DDM/PDMs are only powered when the ignition switch is in the RUN or ACCESSORY position. Power is supplied to the modules through the Power Distribution Center (PDC). The DDM/PDMs provide the battery and ground feeds to the door switch modules and the window lift motors. All passenger door switch modules receive their battery and ground feeds through the circuitry of the door switch module window/lock switch. When the door switch modules power window lockout switch is in the Lock position, the battery feed for the passenger door switch modules are interrupted.
Feature(s) activated by the door switch modules function depending on the Power Accessory Delay (PAD) status.
WINDOW SYSTEM INITIALIZATION - To initialize the power window system, move the front left and front right windows to the full closed position using the manual mode. The door switch module must continue to be held for a minimum of one second after the window reaches the full closed position. The DDM/PDMs will initialize within 600ms after detecting stall condition.
