Single Pane Sunroof
There are two procedures for initialization & obstacle detection calibration. Select the appropriate procedure that fits the scenario.
PROCEDURE 1: Initialization & Obstacle Detection Calibration
Procedure 1 must be followed to initialize sunroof and calibrate obstacle detection when one of the following scenarios are true:
- New un-calibrated replacement service motor has been installed.
- No sunroof movement when sunroof VENT switch is pressed, express operation (one touch) is no longer functioning, glass only travels less than one inch and stops when OPEN switch is pressed and held, and sunroof glass will only close if sunroof CLOSE switch is pressed and held
- Set vehicle ignition to ACCESSORY or start engine.
- Press and hold the sunroof CLOSE switch until the sunroof glass panel moves into the vent position then stalls and stops motion.
- Release the sunroof CLOSE switch, then press and hold it again within 5 seconds, do not release switch.
- As the sunroof CLOSE switch is held, the sunroof glass panel will move to the fully closed position, then to the fully opened position and then fully closed again.
- Once all sunroof motion has stopped release the sunroof CLOSE switch, initialization and obstacle detection calibration is complete. Note: If the switch is released prior to the sunroof completing all operations described the entire procedure must be repeated.
- Confirm sunroof express operation (press & release switch) is functional for open, vent and close operations.
PROCEDURE 2: Re-initialization & Obstacle Detection Calibration
Procedure 2 must be followed to initialize sunroof and calibrate obstacle detection when one of the following scenarios are true:
- Original existing motor has been removed and re-installed on the sunroof module.
- Sunroof glass closed position setting incorrect
- Sunroof glass is auto-reversing during express close operation but no obstruction in roof opening.
- Sunroof assembly or Glass assembly has been removed and reinstalled in vehicle.
- Set vehicle ignition to ACCESSORY or start engine.
- Press and hold the sunroof CLOSE switch until the sunroof glass panel is fully closed, release switch.
- Press and hold the sunroof CLOSE switch again. After 10 seconds the re-initialization process will be begin; do not release switch.
- The sunroof glass panel will move into the vent position then stall and stop motion.
- Release the sunroof CLOSE switch, then press and hold it again within 5 seconds, do not release switch.
- As the sunroof CLOSE switch is held, the sunroof glass panel will move to the fully closed position, then to the fully opened position and then fully closed again.
- Once all sunroof motion has stopped release the sunroof CLOSE switch, re-initialization and obstacle calibration is complete. Note: If the switch is released prior to the sunroof completing all operations described the entire procedure must be repeated.
- Confirm sunroof express operation (press & release switch) is functional for open, vent and close operations.
