Diagnostic Test
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- With the scan tool, read DTCs and record on the repair order.NOTE:
Due to the nature of DTCs C2502-64 and C221B-64 setting criteria, these DTC's may set to Active erroneously in the Drivetrain Control Module (DTCM) during a diagnostic session on the Renegade and 500x vehicles. If you encounter both C2502-64 and C221B-64 set as active AND you have interrogated the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module in any way with a scan tool, make sure to perform the following actions before initiating repair procedures:
- Disconnect scan tool from vehicle
- Drive the vehicle 100 ft
- Connect scan tool and go DIRECTLY to "All DTCs" section without performing any other action. If C2502 and C221B are now stored clear the faults and do not perform any repairs - the faults were set in error. If the two DTCs are still active, proceed with repair procedure.
- Record the Environmental Data.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Using the recorded Environmental Data, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read DTCM DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- With the scan tool, read DTCs and record on the repair order.
- CHECK THE ABS MODULE FOR DTCS
- With the scan tool, check for ABS DTCs.
Were any ABS DTCs found?
Yes
- Diagnose the ABS DTCs in accordance with the diagnostic information.
- Perform the DTCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTCM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Perform the DTCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTCM VERIFICATION TEST .
- Test complete
- With the scan tool, check for ABS DTCs.
