The Body Control Module (BCM), produced by Delphi, is an electronic control unit that manages and controls the following systems:

• Exterior lighting
• Internal lighting
• Electric windows.
• Door locking and unlocking
• Tailgate locking/unlocking
• Wipers and screen washer system
• Fuel level gauge
• Outside temperature
• Immobilizer function
• Brake fluid level
• brake switch
• Vehicle configuration
• Diesel heater on Filter Relay Control
• Hazard warning lights control
• Gateway functions between the high-speed (CAN-C1) and medium-speed (CAN-BH) CANs and LIN

The BCM also constitutes an interconnection unit that ensures a protected supply for many electrical loads via fuses.

The BCM comprises two main boards:

• the power board, which contains the fuses, internal relays and power connections.
• the logic board which contains the microprocessor.

The BCM is positioned under the dashboard lining to the left of the steering wheel behind a plastic cover which is removable for access to the fuses.
