Theory Of Operation

The Electronic Shift Module (ESM) monitors the Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) Solenoid (Gear Shift Lock Solenoid) circuits for electrical failures. If an open circuit, short to ground, or short to voltage is detected, A DTC will set and the shifter will not unlock from Park or Neutral.
