Sensor, Coolant Temperature: Removal: 3.2L
The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor on the 3.2L engine is installed into a water jacket at rear of the cylinder head on the left side of the engine.
WARNING:
Hot, pressurized coolant can cause injury by scalding. Cooling system must be partially drained before removing the coolant temperature sensor.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the engine cover.
- Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING

- Disconnect the coolant temperature sensor wire harness connector (1).
- Remove the coolant temperature sensor (2) from the cylinder head.
