3.2L Cooling System: Engine: Thermostat: Installation: 3.2L

CAUTION:

The Thermostat and housing is serviced as an assembly. Do not remove the thermostat from the housing. Damage to the thermostat may occur.

Clean mating areas of timing chain cover and thermostat housing (1).
Install a NEW gasket on to the thermostat housing.

Install thermostat housing (2) and tighten the bolts (4) to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS - 3.2L .
Install upper radiator hose (3) on thermostat housing.
Fill cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
Install the air cleaner body. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION .
Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
Start and warm the engine. Check for leaks.
