Radiator, Engine Cooling: Removal: 2.4L

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to COOLING/STANDARD PROCEDURE .

  3. Remove the bolts (2) securing the lower radiator hose (1).

  4. Disconnect the quick-coupling and remove the lower radiator hose (1).
  5. Remove the cooling fan. Refer to FAN, COOLING, REMOVAL .

  6. Disconnect the ambient air temperature sensor wire harness connector (2).
  7. Remove the push-pin retainer and the ambient air temperature sensor (1).

    NOTE:

    The transmission oil cooler lines do not need to be disconnected.

  8. Remove the bolts (1) and position aside the transmission cooler (2).

  9. Remove the push-pin retainers (1) and the right side air deflectors (2).

  10. Remove the push-pin retainers (1) and the left side air deflectors (2).

  11. Remove the bolt (1) securing the A/C service port bracket to the condenser.

  12. Remove the nut (2) securing the A/C discharge and liquid line junction block to the bracket (1).

  13. Remove the three bolts (1) securing the A/C condenser to the radiator and position aside.

  14. Remove the two bolts (1) and the upper left side radiator mount cover (2).
  15. Remove the two bolts (3) and the upper right side radiator mount cover (4).

  16. Pull the radiator forward releasing the isolators (1) from the mount and remove the radiator (2).
