PTU and RDM Power Stage/Actuator overtemp faults
- (RDM - C2100-98, PTU - C2170-98)
- (RDM - C2150-98, PTU - C2180-98)
- (RDM - C221D-98, PTU - C2190-98)
- (RDM - C2230-98)
|
The DTCM detects an over temperature condition in the actuator Power Stage circuit. There are 3 severity levels of overtemp faults for the PTU and RDM actuators.
- (RDM - C2100-98, PTU - C2170-98) - Power Stage has reached the overtemp warning threshold.
- (RDM - C2150-98, PTU - C2180-98) - Power Stage has reached the overtemp deactivation threshold. Power Stage switched off.
- (RDM - C221D-98, PTU - C2190-98) - Power Stage has reached the overtemp deactivation threshold several times during the ignition cycle. Power Stage switched off permanently.
- (RDM - C2230-98) - RDM Clutch temperature is above 200°C or actuator temperature is above 160°C
|
- System being overworked - driven aggressively
- Fluid level low - excessive friction causing overheat
- PTU not engaging properly - actuator overworking
- RDM clutch friction plates slipping causing overheat
- Faulty actuator motor - The RDM motor should not be replaced separately. Replace the RDM assembly if the motor is faulty
