Axle Locker System: Notes

The axle locker system is for off road use only and is comprised of the following components:

1. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC)  .
2. Refer to AXLE LOCKER ACTUATOR  .
3. Refer to FRONT AXLE DISCONNECT  .
4. Refer to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)  .
5. Refer to AXLE LOCKER SWITCH  .
6. Refer to DRIVE TRAIN CONTROL MODULE (DTCM)  .
- Off Road Switch Refer to OFF ROAD SWITCH  .

The TRU-LOK axle locker system is an Off Road use system that can lock the front and rear axles for a true 4WD operation. When the Off Road button is selected the DTCM will activate a change in calibration of the vehicle. When the front and rear axles are locked the vehicle in 4LO a calibration will not allow the vehicle to exceed a calibrated speed of approximately 16 KPH (10 MPH), in 4HI with the rear axle locked there is no limit to the vehicle speed. The Front axle can not be locked in 4HI.
