Diagnostic Test

VERIFY ACTIVE DTC 

NOTE:

Make sure the battery is fully charged.

NOTE:

Follow the ignition off warning, due to any special tools or body harness connectors that may need to be reconnected reintroducing voltage to a wire harness and component area.

WARNING:

Turn the ignition off, disconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

  1. Remove any special tools or jumper wires and reconnect all previously disconnected components - except the battery.
  2. Make sure the passenger seat is empty and in the upright position. Make sure the temperature of the seat is between 2°C (35°F) and 32°C (90°F).
  3. The following DTCs will cause the procedure to fail: B0061-17, B0061-16, B0061-13, B0061-2A, B1B9D-00, B2212-00. Follow the instructions for repairing these DTCs before attempting to Perform the OCM System Verification Test.
    NOTE:

    PERFORMING THE OCM SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST WILL ALLOW THE OCM TO RE-LEARN THE EMPTY SEAT VALUE.

    WARNING:

    Turn the ignition on, then reconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

    WARNING:

    Disconnect the 12-volt battery wait two minutes before proceeding, remove the ORC fuses, connect the 12-volt battery, wait two minutes before proceeding. Cycle the ignition to the On position, then reconnect the ORC fuses. Wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

    NOTE:

    Failure to follow the test instructions or aborting the test causes faults to set when performing the Scan tool Occupant Classification Module System Verification Test. To prevent faults due to process errors: verify that all tests steps that led you here were performed as directed, verify that the ignition is in run position. Only press scan tool buttons when directed to do so and perform the scan tool Occupant Classification Module System Verification Test to completion.

  4. With the scan tool in OCM, select the Miscellaneous Functions tab on the scan tool, select OCM System Verification Test. Run the test by following the instructions displayed on the scan tool. When the test completes, wait two minutes and then proceed as follows.
  5. With the scan tool, read active DTCs.

    Does the scan tool display active or stored B1BA8-00-OCM SYSTEM OUT OF CALIBRATION/NOT CALIBRATED active DTC?

    Yes 

    No
