VERIFY ACTIVE DTC

NOTE:

Make sure the battery is fully charged.

NOTE:

Follow the ignition off warning, due to any special tools or body harness connectors that may need to be reconnected reintroducing voltage to a wire harness and component area.

WARNING:

Turn the ignition off, disconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

Remove any special tools or jumper wires and reconnect all previously disconnected components - except the battery.
Make sure the passenger seat is empty.
Before re-zero, check proper installation of the bladder and hose routing. If hose/bladder pinched or kinked, the re-zero may fail. If hose has a kink mark, reorder a new kit. OCM will fail in the field otherwise.
Three conditions are necessary for a successful re-zero procedure. The seat temperature must be between 2°C(35°F) and 32°C(90°F). The seat must be in the vehicle and no weight on the seat cushion. Repair the DTCs that prevent the Empty Seat Relearn procedure from successfully completing (B0061-17, B0061-16, B0061-13, B0061-2A, B1B9D-00, B2212-00).
NOTE:
Failure to follow the test instructions or aborting the test causes faults to set when performing the Scan tool Occupant Classification Module System Verification Test. To prevent faults due to process errors: verify that all tests steps that led you here were performed as directed, verify that the ignition is in run position. Only press scan tool buttons when directed to do so and perform the scan tool Occupant Classification Module System Verification Test to completion.
With the scan tool in OCM, select the Miscellaneous Functions tab on the scan tool, select Empty Seat Value Relearn. Run the test by following the instructions displayed on the scan tool. When the test completes, wait two minutes and then proceed as follows.
With the scan tool, read active DTCs.
Does the scan tool display active or stored B1BA8-00-OCM SYSTEM OUT OF CALIBRATION/NOT CALIBRATED active DTCs?

Yes
- Replace the Occupant Classification Module (OCM) in accordance with Service Information. Refer to MODULE, OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION (OCM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

- Perform the Occupant Classification Module (OCM) Verification Test. Refer to OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION MODULE (OCM) VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- OCM re-zero procedure complete. Perform the Standard Procedure Occupant Classification Module (OCM) Verification Test. Refer to OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION MODULE (OCM) VERIFICATION TEST .
