Diagnostic Test

POWER SEAT SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST 

  1. Disconnect all jumper wires and reconnect all previously disconnected components and connectors.
  2. Make sure that all accessories are turned off.
  3. Make sure that the battery is fully charged.
  4. Turn the ignition on.
  5. Using a scan tool, record and erase Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from all modules.
  6. If either the Memory Seat Module (MSM) or the Driver Horizontal Seat Adjuster Motor/Seat Track was replaced or, if DTC B1D9B-54 Seat Horizontal Front Stop Not Learned-Missing Calibration is present, using the scan tool, perform the MSM Standardization Routine. Follow the directions on the scan tool.
  7. Operate all seat and pedal motors in all directions to their respective end of travel locations.
  8. If equipped with Telescope and Tilt Steering and either the Memory Seat Module (MSM) or the Steering column motors were replaced or if DTC B1D9B-54 Seat Horizontal Front Stop Not Learned-Missing Calibration is present: Using the scan tool, perform the MSM Standardization Routine. Follow the directions on the scan tool. Press and hold the Telescope Steering switch until the stops have been reached. At each stop, apply the switch in that direction for a minimum of 10 seconds to learn the hard stop. Apply the same procedure to the Tilt Steering.
  9. Using the Memory Switch on the driver's door, program the driver's seat number 1 Button to a desired position and the driver's seat number 2 Button to a different position.
  10. Verify both Memory positions can be recalled with the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter and with the Memory Switch on the driver's door.
  11. Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
  12. With the scan tool, read DTCs in all modules.

    Are DTCs present in any modules or is the original condition still present?

    Yes 

    • The repair is not complete. Perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure for the DTC or symptom that is still present.

    No 

    • Repair complete.
