Body Control Module (BCM)
BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)
| Refer to COMPONENT INDEX . |
On vehicles that are equipped with the optional remote radio switches, the BCM receives the Local Interface Network (LIN) input as a digital serial signal from the Steering Column Control Module (SCCM). The remote radio switches on the steering wheel use various analog voltages to represent different states that are then from the left remote radio switch by LIN to the SCCM. The programming in the BCM allows it to process those inputs and send the appropriate electronic command messages to the radio receiver over the CAN-IHS data bus to control the radio volume up or down, station seek up or down, preset station advance, and mode advance functions.
CAN-IHS Outputs
- Ignition switch status
- System voltage
- Removable hard top ON/OFF status
- Remote radio switch requests
