Diagnostic Test
CHARGE AIR COOLER PRESSURE TEST
- Loosen the Air Inlet Tube clamp at the Turbochargers.
- Remove the air filter housing and the inlet tube from the vehicle as an assembly in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to 3.0L [EFC], BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or 3.0L [EFH], BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install the
(special tool #2080100090, Tool, Air Pressure Test)
CAUTION:Never attempt to start or run the vehicle at any time during this test, engine damage may occur.
- Block off any ports on the intake manifold and the unused fitting.
- Before attaching shop air to the pressure regulator verify that the regulator is at its lowest pressure setting (0 psi).
- Attach an air supply to the regulator and slowly increase the pressure until the pressure gauge reads 10 psi.WARNING:
Never apply more than 30 PSI.
- Using Mopar Air Leak Detector or equivalent, spray the Turbocharger, Charge Air Cooler (CAC) Heat Exchange and Hoses while watching for leaks.
- Before any attempt to repair the system is made, it's necessary to completely discharge the system. This can be accomplished by turning the regulator knob counter clockwise.
- Allow for adequate time to pass before removing the Pressure tester from the Turbocharger inlet.
- Remove tool 2080100090 and connect all port that were plugged.
- Install the Air Filter Housing and Air Inlet Tube as an assembly in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to 3.0L [EFC], BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
or 3.0L [EFH], BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to 3.0L [EFH], POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST or 3.0L [EFC], POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
