Functional Description - Anti-Lock Brake System Control Module (Abs)

The ABS Module is bolted to the Hydraulic Assembly. The ABS Module monitors several inputs used for normal vehicle braking as well as detection and operation of Anti-lock braking, traction, and electronic stability controls. The signals that are monitored are listed below. The ABS Module directly monitors the signals for operating the:

• Master Cylinder Pressure Sensor
• Hydraulic pressure sensors in each hydraulic circuit
• Wheel Speed Sensors
• Steering Angle Sensor
• Dynamic Sensor

These inputs are used to control the following output devices:

• Motor/actuator
• Hydraulic pump
• Inlet Check Valves
• Outlet Check Valves
