Ignition Control Module: Testing and Inspection

Description:

INSPECTION
1. With the ignition switch in ON, disconnect the distributor connector C152 and check for battery voltage at the WHT/RED wire (pin 2).
2. If battery voltage is present, go to step 4.
3. If battery voltage is not present check for an open or short to ground on the circuit back to the MAIN relay and FUEL INJ fuse.
4. Check the same wire colors between the PCM connector (C249 pins 16, 4 and 20) and the distributor connector (C152 pins 3, 4 and 6).
5. Check for continuity to ground on the two BLK/YEL wires of distributor connector C152 pins 1 and 5.
6. If all checks are made and the distributor's ignition control module still does not work properly, replace the distributor.
