Throttle Position (TP) Sensor

NOTE: For information on connector terminal identification and test conditions specified in the following tables, see ADJUSTMENTS article.
TP SENSOR CONTINUITY SPECIFICATIONS (1.6L)

Test Condition (1) Check Between Pin Nos. Continuity?
.006" (.15 mm) 1 & 2 Yes
.020" (.5 mm) 1 & 2 No
(1) Insert feeler gauge of specified thickness between throttle lever and throttle stop screw.
TP SENSOR VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONS (1.8L)

Condition (1) (2) Volts
Throttle Closed .58-.61
Wide Open Throttle Approx. 3.65
(1) Also ensure voltage change is smooth between closed and open throttle.
(2) Measure voltage between TP Sensor terminal No. 3 and ground with ignition ON and TP Sensor connected.
