Ambient Temperature Sensor / Switch HVAC: Testing and Inspection
A/C Thermostat1. Remove glove box.
2. Run engine at idle.
3. Turn A/C switch OFF and set blower switch to highest position to operate blower fan for a few minutes.
4. After a few minutes, turn blower switch OFF and stop engine.
5. Disconnect A/C thermostat connector and connect test light.
6. Apply 12 V to terminal 4 (BLU/YEL) of A/C thermostat and ground terminal 1 (BLU/WHT) and verify that test light illuminates as follows.
7. If not as specified, replace A/C thermostat.
NOTE:
a. The A/C thermostat contacts will be open if evaporator temperature is below 34.7 ± 0.9° F (1.5 ± 0.5° C).
b. Test light will be illuminated.
