Monitor Scantool Data

CAUTION: If any codes relating to TPS or MAFS are stored, do ALL REPAIRS associated with those codes before proceeding with further troubleshooting
  1. Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF"
  2. Connect Scantool and monitor the "TPS VOLTAGE" parameter on scantool.
    1. Specification:
    1. Throttle valve fully closed: Approx. 0.2~0.8V
    2. Throttle valve fully open: Approx. 4.0~4.4V
    3. TP sensor signal should increase smoothly as throttle is opened.

  3. Is TPS parameter near the specified value?

    YES

    1. Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or the ECM's connector, which was repaired but ECM memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure

    NO

    1. Go to "AIR LEAKAGE INSPECTION " procedure
