Monitor Scantool Data
- Start engine to normal operating temperature and monitor the "ECT SENSOR" parameter on scantool.
- After the engine has started, Check that ECT rises steadily to about 90°C (194°F) and ECT stabilizes when the thermostat opens.

- Specification: ECT rises steadily to about 90°C (194°F) and ECT stabilizes when the thermostat opens.
- Is ECT sensor's signal near the specified value?
YES
- Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or ECM's connector.
- Fault was repaired and ECM memory was not cleared.
- If the problem works out, Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Go to "Inspection & Repair" procedure.
