Component Inspection

Check Knock Sensor 

1. IG KEY: ON, Engine: ON
2. Connect knock sensor connector B-17 and ECM connector.
3. Check the signal waveform of knock sensor on scantool.
   1. Specification: Approx. 0.3V (When the knocking doesn't take place at idle)

4. Is the signal waveform normal?

   YES

   1. Knock sensor is OK.
   2. Possibility of defective ECM. Temporarily test with a new ECM and check for proper operation.

      If problem is corrected, replace ECM and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

   NO

   1. Test with a new knock sensor and check for proper operation. If problem is corrected, replace it.

      And go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
