CAN Communication Circuit Inspection: Notes

Check CAN BUS Short to Ground
1. IG "OFF"
2. Disconnect CAN communication modules. (ECM, ABS (ESP), SRS control module, TRIP computer, Tire pressure monitoring module, Yaw rate sensor)
3. Measure the resistance between CAN-HIGH terminal of DLC harness connector and chassis ground.
4. Measure the resistance between CAN-LOW terminal of DLC harness connector and chassis ground.
  Specification: Discontinuity (Infinite Ω)

5. Is the measured resistance within specification?
  YES
  - Go to "CHECK CAN BUS SHORT TO BATTERY ".
  NO
  - Repair short to ground in circuit and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR ".
