Component Inspection

  1. IG KEY "ON" and select 'Actuation Test' menu in GDS.
  2. Execute 'Variable Charge Motion Actuator'.
  3. Confirm the change of VCMA feedback sensor signal and the sound of operation.

    Specification 

    SIGNAL OUTPUT SPECIFICATION CHART

    Control State Flap State Signal Output
    OFF OPEN 0.84 ± 0.1 V
    ON CLOSE 4.16 ± 0.1 V
  4. Is everything OK?

    YES 

    • Check for poor connection between PCM and component: backed out terminal, improper mating, broken locks or poor terminal to wire connection. Repair as necessary and go to VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR  procedure.

    NO 

    • Check the component and harness for contamination, deterioration, or damage thoroughly. Substitute with a known-good VCMA and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace the component and then go to VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR  procedure. If not, substitute with a known-good PCM and check for proper operation. And then go to VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR  procedure.
