Component Inspection

  1. Ignition ON & Engine OFF.
  2. Connect scantool to Data Link Connector(DLC).
  3. Select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)" mode and monitor "DTC Status" parameter.
  4. Clear recorded DTC using Scan tool.
  5. After turning IG OFF to IG ON twice or three times, check DTC again and monitor "DTC Status" parameter.
  6. Does the scantool show same DTC again?

    YES 

    • PCM/TCM's ROM or DATA is changed by reprogram illegally.
    • Substitute with a known-good PCM/TCM and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace PCM/TCM and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO 

    • Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or PCM/TCM's connector or was repaired and PCM/TCM's memory was not cleared.

      Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, ending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
