Component Inspection

  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Disconnect HO2S connector.
  3. Measure resistance between Heater Control terminal and Heater Power terminal of the HO2S connector. (Component side)

    Specification  -2012

    HO2S HEATER SPECIFICATIONS

    HO2S Heater Normal Parameter
    18 ~ 20°C
    Heater Resistance 2.4 ~ 2.9Ω

    Specification  -2013

    HO2S HEATER SPECIFICATIONS

    HO2S Heater Normal Parameter
    20°C(68°F)
    Heater Resistance 2.5 ~ 4.0Ω

    For 2012

    For 2013 refer to ETM 

  4. Is HO2S heater resistance display near the specified value?

    YES 

    • Check for poor connection between PCM and component: backed out terminal, improper mating, broken locks or poor terminal to wire connection. Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO 

    • Check HO2S for contamination, deterioration, or damage. Substitute with a known-good HO2S and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace HO2S and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
