Component Inspection

Visual Check
1. IG "OFF" and disconnect HO2S (S1) connector.
2. Check that HO2S (S1) is contaminated or damaged by foreign materials.
Check HO2S (S1) Performance
1. Connect GDS to DLC (Data Link Cable).
2. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.
3. Check the "Current Data" about related DTC with GDS.

  1. To compare the performance of the catalyst oxygen sensor 1 and 2 can be determined.
Confirm Part Inspection
1. Does the HO2S (S1) operate properly? (Check variation)
  YES
  - Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
  NO
  - Substitute with a known-good HO2S (S1) and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace HO2S (S1) and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
