Component Inspection

■ Visual Check of HO2S (B1S1) 

  1. IG "OFF" and disconnect HO2S (B1S1) connector.
  2. Check that HO2S (B1S1) is contaminated or damaged by foreign materials.

■ Check HO2S (B1S1) Performance 

  1. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.
  2. Connect VMI to GDS and select "Oscilloscope".
  3. Connect Channel A positive probe to Pin No. 1 (high) and Channel A negative probe to Pin No. 2 (low).

    Specification:  Refer to Fig 1

■ Confirm Part Inspection 

  1. Does the HO2S (B1S1) operate properly? (Check Variation)

    YES 

    NO 

    • Carefully redo this troubleshooting guide steps.
    • If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, replace the HO2S (B1S1) and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
