DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • Heater Performance Check.
  1. Poor connection
  2. Open or Short to ground in power circuit
  3. Damaged or corroded terminals
  4. HO2S (S1)
Case 1 Enable Conditions
  • B+ greater than 10.7V and less than 16.0 V.
  • Sensor heating time greater than 45 sec.
Threshold Value
  • Ceramic Temp less than 720 °C (1328°F).
Diagnostic Time
  • 3 sec.
Case 2 Enable Conditions
  • Exhaust Temp greater than 450 °C (842 °F).
  • Power of Sensor heating greater than 90 %.
  • Sensor heating time greater than 50 sec.
  • No Fuel Cut greater than 50 sec.
Threshold Value
  • Ceramic Temp less than 720 °C (1328 °F).
Diagnostic Time
  • 60 sec.
Case 3 Enable Conditions
  • Exhaust Temp greater than 450 °C (842 °F).
  • Sensor heating time greater than 50 sec.
  • No Fuel Cut greater than 50 sec.
Threshold Value
  • Ceramic Temp less than 640 °C (1184 °F).
Diagnostic Time
  • 10 sec.
MIL ON Condition
  • 2 driving cycles.
* S1: upstream oxygen sensor/S2: downstream oxygen sensor
