Monitor GDS status

  1. Connect GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  2. Ignition "ON" (Power Button LED "Red")
  3. Monitor "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)" with GDS.
  4. If the DTC U0129 status is history, erase the DTC and re-check for MIL ON, if the DTC (Fig 1) status is present, select "Freeze Frame" and monitor "Information Code".
  5. Perform applicable repair procedure for "Information Code" and perform following procedure.

    Information Code Check Items
    604 Disconnection or short circuit of CAN communication line/AHB system error
  6. Is DTC status displayed as Present?

    YES 

    • In case there is DTC U0001, check and repair this first and then check for DTC lighting again.
    • Diagnose CLU system, and if there is DTC, check it first and see if this DTC is erased.
    • Go to "WIRING INSPECTION " procedure.

    NO 

    • Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or EPCU's connector or was repaired and EPCU memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
