Component Inspection

■ Check TPS performance 

1. Ignition "OFF".
2. Connect VMI to KDS/GDS and select "Oscilloscope".
3. Connect CH A (+) probe to signal terminal (Pin No. 6) of TPS1 connector. (AT, MT)
4. Connect CH B (+) probe to signal terminal (Pin No. 4) of TPS2 connector. (AT, MT)
5. Warm up the Engine to normal operating temperature.
6. Measure signal waveform of TPS1 and TPS2 together by stepping on and off the accelerator pedal.

   Specification:  Refer to Specification

7. Does the TPS operate properly? (Check variation)

   YES 

   • Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.

   NO 

   • Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
   • If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, replace the ECT Motor and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
