Repair Procedures: Installation

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for at least three minutes before beginning to work.
  2. Connect the passenger airbag connector (A) and then tightening the PAB mounting bolts (B).

    Tightening torque: 

    7.8 - 11.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.7 lb.ft)

  3. Remove the main crash pad.

    (Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "MAIN CRASH PAD ASSEMBLY ")

  4. Remove the glove box assembly.

    (Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "GLOVE BOX HOUSING ")

  5. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
  6. After installing the passenger airbag (PAB), confirm proper system operation:
    • Turn the ignition switch ON; the SRS indicator light should be turned on for about six seconds and then go off.
