Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.
  2. Remove the alternator mounting nut, and then remove the cable (A) from alternator "B" terminal.
  3. Disconnect the alternator connector (B).

  4. Remove the alternator upper bolt (A).

    Alternator mounting upper bolt  :

    49.0 - 63.7 N.m (5.0 - 6.5 kgf.m, 36.2 - 47.0 Ib.ft)

  5. Lift the vehicle.
  6. Remove the engine room under cover.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")

  7. Remove the drive belt.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "DRIVE BELT ")

  8. Disconnect the compressor ECV connector, and then by loosening the mounting bolts, widen the gap between the compressor (A) from the engine to remove the alternator.

  9. Remove the alternator lower bolt (A).

    Alternator mounting lower bolt  :

    49.0 - 63.7 N.m (5.0 - 6.5 kgf.m, 36.2 - 47.0 Ib.ft)

  10. Remove the alternator (A).
