DTC P2228-00: Barometric Pressure Circuit Low Input: General Description

The Barometric Pressure Sensor (BPS) is attached the internal ECM and detects the atmospheric pressure at the vehicle's current location.

The barometric pressure sensor is used for precise amount of intake air detection with intake air flow sensor and intake air temperature sensor by calculating the density of air (oxygen).

The Barometric Pressure Sensor plays an important role in correcting the amount of fuel and EGR control by the air density (oxygen) difference at high altitude operation.
