DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • ECTS too low for Lambda regulation
  • Poor connector connection
  • Faulty cooling system
  • Open or short in ECTS signal circuit
  • Faulty ECTS
Enable Conditions
  • ECTS at engine start-up < 0°C (32°F)
  • 50s elapsed after engine start-up when difference of Lambda control enable ECTS and ECTS at start-up is 0°C (32°F)
  • 100s elapsed after engine start-up when difference of Lambda control enable ECTS and ECTS at start-up is 8°C (46°F)
  • 200s elapsed after engine start-up when difference of Lambda control enable ECTS and ECTS at start-up is 20°C (68°F)
  • 300s elapsed after engine start-up when difference of Lambda control enable ECTS and ECTS at start-up is 35°C (95°F)
  • Battery voltage between 11 - 16V
  • No relevant DTC present

  • ECTS signal < 0°C (32°F)
Diagnostic Time
  • Immediate
MIL ON Condition
  • 2 driving cycles
