Purge Control Solenoid Valve Coil Resistance Inspection: Notes

  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.
  3. Refer to PCSV CONNECTOR REMOVAL and disconnect Purge Control Solenoid Valve connector.
  4. Measure resistance between Pin No. 1 (Power) terminal and Pin No. 2 (Control) terminal of Purge Control Solenoid Valve component.

    Specification:  Approx. 19.0 to 22.0Ω at 68°F (20°C)

  5. Is the measured value within specification?

    YES 

    • Fault might be intermittent and caused either by poor contact in connectors or wiring harness, or it has been repaired and control module memory is not cleared yet. Thoroughly check terminal of battery, all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.
    • Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.

    NO 

CAUTION:
  • Install the component with the specified torques.
  • Note that internal damage may occur when the component is dropped or mis-treated.
  • Keep foreign materials out of the valve.
