Repair Procedures: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2020 Hyundai Kona. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and then disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  2. Separate the intercooler inlet hose (A) from the turbocharger and then remove the inter cooler inlet pipe (B). [Gasoline 1.6 T-GDI]

    Tightening Torque: 

    Clamp: 4.9 - 6.9 N.m (0.5 - 0.7 kgf.m, 3.6 - 5.1 lb-ft)

    Mounting bolt: 18.6 - 23.5 N.m (1.9 - 2.4kgf.m, 13.7 - 17.4 lb-ft)

  3. Pull up the lock of the HECU connector and then disconnect the connector (A).

  4. Separate the brake tubes from the HECU by unlocking the nuts (6-ea) Counter-Clockwise using a spanner.

    Tightening Torque: 

    12.7 - 16.7 N.m (1.3 - 1.7 kgf.m, 9.4 - 12.3 lb-ft)

    Tightening Torque: 

    18.6 - 22.5 N.m (1.9 - 2.3 kgf.m, 13.7 - 16.6 lb-ft)

  5. Loosen the ABS control module mounting nut (A) and then remove the ABS control module from the vehicle.

    Tightening Torque: 

    12.7 - 16.7 N.m (1.3 - 1.7 kgf.m, 9.4 - 12.3 lb-ft)

  6. Separate the bracket (B) after remove the mounting bolt from the HECU (A).

    NOTE:
    • Never attempt to disassemble the ABS.
    • The HECU must be transported and stored in.
    • Never shock to the ABS.
