Signal Circuit Inspection
- Ignition "OFF".
- Refer to "INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR (IATS) " and disconnect IAT Sensor connector.
- Ignition "ON".
- Measure voltage between Pin No. 3 (Signal) terminal of IAT Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification: Approx. 5V
- Ignition "OFF"
- Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.
- Refer to "S INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR (IATS) " and disconnect IAT Sensor connector.
- Measure resistance between Pin No. 3 (Signal) terminal of IAT Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification: ∞ (infinite)Ω
- Is the measured value within specification?
YES
- Go to "COMPONENT INSPECTION " procedure.
NO
- Repair open or short in signal circuit between IAT Sensor and PCM and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
