Ground Circuit Inspection
- Ignition "OFF"
- Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.
- Refer to "ELECTRIC EGR CONTROL VALVE " and disconnect EGR Valve connector.
- Measure resistance between Pin No. 5 (Ground) terminal of EGR Valve harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification: Approx. below 1Ω
- Ignition "OFF"
- Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.
- Refer to "ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) " and disconnect PCM connector.
- Measure resistance between Pin No. 5 (Ground) terminal of EGR Valve harness connector and Pin No. 36 (Ground) terminal of ECM/PCM harness
Specification: Approx. below 1Ω
- Is measured value within specification?
YES
- Go to "SIGNAL CIRCUIT INSPECTION " procedure.
NO
- Repair open or short in ground circuit between EGR Valve and chassis ground and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
