APS1 Circuit Inspection

Power Circuit Inspection 

  1. Ignition "OFF"
  2. Refer to "ACCELERATOR POSITION SENSOR (APS) " and disconnect Accel Pedal Position Sensor connector.
  3. Ignition "ON"
  4. Measure voltage between Pin No. 4 (Power) terminal of Accel Pedal Position Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

    Specification:  Approx. 5V

  5. Is measured value within specification?

    YES 

    • Go to "next" procedure.

    NO 

Ground Circuit Inspection 

  1. Ignition "OFF"
  2. Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.
  3. Refer to "ACCELERATOR POSITION SENSOR (APS) " and "ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) " and disconnect Accel Pedal Position Sensor and PCM connector.
  4. Measure resistance between Pin No. 2 (Ground) terminal of Accel Pedal Position Sensor harness connector and Pin No. 47 (Ground) terminal of ECM/PCM harness connector.

    Specification:  Approx. below 1Ω

  5. Connect PCM connector.
  6. Measure resistance between Pin No. 2 (Ground) terminal of Accel Pedal Position Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

    Specification:  Approx. below 1Ω

  7. Is measured value within specification?

    YES 

    • Go to "next" procedure.

    NO 

Signal Circuit Inspection 

  1. Ignition "OFF"
  2. Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.
  3. Refer to "ACCELERATOR POSITION SENSOR (APS) " and "ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) " and disconnect Accel Pedal Position Sensor and PCM connector.
  4. Measure resistance between Pin No. 3 (Signal) terminal of Accel Pedal Position Sensor harness connector and Pin No. 65 (Signal) terminal of ECM/PCM harness connector.

    Specification:  Approx. below 1Ω

  5. Is measured value within specification?

    YES 

    NO
