APS1 Circuit Inspection
Power Circuit Inspection
- Ignition "OFF"
- Refer to "ACCELERATOR POSITION SENSOR (APS) " and disconnect Accel Pedal Position Sensor connector.
- Ignition "ON"
- Measure voltage between Pin No. 4 (Power) terminal of Accel Pedal Position Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification: Approx. 5V
- Is measured value within specification?
YES
- Go to "next" procedure.
NO
- Repair open or short in power circuit, and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
Ground Circuit Inspection
- Ignition "OFF"
- Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.
- Refer to "ACCELERATOR POSITION SENSOR (APS) " and "ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) " and disconnect Accel Pedal Position Sensor and PCM connector.
- Measure resistance between Pin No. 2 (Ground) terminal of Accel Pedal Position Sensor harness connector and Pin No. 47 (Ground) terminal of ECM/PCM harness connector.
Specification: Approx. below 1Ω
- Connect PCM connector.
- Measure resistance between Pin No. 2 (Ground) terminal of Accel Pedal Position Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification: Approx. below 1Ω
- Is measured value within specification?
YES
- Go to "next" procedure.
NO
- Repair open or short in ground circuit, and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
Signal Circuit Inspection
- Ignition "OFF"
- Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.
- Refer to "ACCELERATOR POSITION SENSOR (APS) " and "ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) " and disconnect Accel Pedal Position Sensor and PCM connector.
- Measure resistance between Pin No. 3 (Signal) terminal of Accel Pedal Position Sensor harness connector and Pin No. 65 (Signal) terminal of ECM/PCM harness connector.
Specification: Approx. below 1Ω
- Is measured value within specification?
YES
- Go to "APS2 CIRCUIT INSPECTION " procedure.
NO
- Repair open or short in ground circuit, and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
