Repair Procedures: Replacement

Change Oil Capacity Standard Oil
Normal use Severe use Gasoline 1.6: About 0.5L
(0.13 U.S.gal., 0.53 U.S.qt, 0.44 Imp.qt.)
API GL-5, SAE75W/85 Hypoid gear oil
(SK HCT-5 75W/85 or equivalent)
No service required 120000 km (80000 miles) Gasoline 2.0: About 0.4L
(0.11 U.S.gal, 0.42 U.S.qt, 0.35 Imp.qt.)

Severe driving conditions

  1. Remove the under cover.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")

  2. Drain the transfer oil after loosening the drain plug (A).

  3. Install the drain plug with a new gasket.

    Tightening Torque: 

    39.2 - 58.8 N.m (4.0 - 6.0 kgf.m, 28.9 - 43.4 lb-ft)

  4. Remove the filler plug (A) and then fill the transfer oil.

    Standard Oil:  Hypoid gear oil API GL-5, SAE75W/90 (SHELL HD AXLE OIL 75W/90 or equivalent)

    Oil Capacity:  Oil level must be up to fill the hole, if not, add oil until it runs over.

  5. Install the filler plug with a new gasket.

    Tightening Torque: 

    39.2 - 58.8 N.m (4.0 - 6.0 kgf.m, 28.9 - 43.4 lb-ft)

  6. Install the under cover.
